General Terms

It is wise to read the following carefully. Both you and the landlord will find your and our rights and obligations here. When you book with us, you confirm that you agree to the terms and conditions printed below. We process your personal data that you provide during the booking process in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and our Privacy Statement.

Article 1. General

1. The following terms and conditions apply to bookings of the Apartments at Snowy Lodge.
2. Snowy Lodge reserves the right to all price changes and/or erroneous entries
3. The Agreement is governed by Surinamese law.

Article 2. Booking, Confirmation, Amendment Fee, Security Deposit and Payment

1. When booking, it must be indicated how many people are using the apartment.
2. For a reservation less than 30 days before the booking date, the full booking amount is due immediately.
3. When booking more than 30 days before the booking date, the deposit is 50% of the booking amount. The deposit must be paid within 7 days. If payment is not made on time, the reservation will be cancelled. The balance (remainder) must be paid within 30 days of the booking date.
4. Payments are only made by bank transfer, unless otherwise agreed.
5. The deposit is 250.- euro for a booking period of up to 30 nights.  For longer stays, the deposit is 500 euros. The deposit is paid in cash at check-in. Without a deposit, entry will be denied.
6. The landlord has the right to deduct from the deposit the costs incurred for negligence/damage or failure to clean the apartment. Damages/negligence can usually be recovered from the travel insurance. The tenant must report any damage caused immediately.

Article 3. Cancellation

1. Free cancellation period up to 14 days before booking date
2. In case of cancellation within 14 days before the start of the stay, an amount of 50% of the booking amount is due.
3. In case of non-show on booking date, no-show, the full rental amount is due
4. In case of early termination of the stay, the full rental amount remains due.
5. You must take out cancellation insurance with your own insurer.

Article 4. Smoking, Pets, house rules, cleaning etc.

1. Pets are not allowed in the apartments.
2. Smoking is prohibited in the apartments.
3. Frying with grease and barbecuing in and around the house is not allowed, damage caused by this will be recovered directly from the tenant and will be deducted from the deposit.
4. House rules present in the apartments must be read and followed.
5. You must dispose of household waste yourself in the container provided for this purpose.
6. The dirt does not need to be separated.
7. The tenant must leave the kitchen and all utensils he/she has used clean.
8. Damage will be recovered from the tenant and will be deducted from the deposit.

Article 5. Liability

1. Snowy Lodge is not liable for accidents, theft, loss or damage, of any kind, during or as a result of a stay in one of our apartments.
2. The tenant is liable for all loss and/or damage to the rented property and its inventory, regardless of whether this is the result of acts or omissions of the tenant or of third parties who are in the rented property with the permission of the tenant.
3. In case of careless use or not leaving the houses tidy, any additional (cleaning time) costs resulting from this will be deducted from the deposit.
4. On the confirmation, the tenant will see the number of people renting the apartment. This number may not be exceeded. Snowy Lodge reserves the right to check this rule and, if necessary, to vacate the house.
5. If there is a change in the number of tenants, the tenant is obliged to discuss this in advance with Snowy Lodge and to pay the resulting extra costs in advance.
6. The tenant is liable for damage to washbasins (e.g. by leaning on them) and blockages of (toilet) drainage due to improper use.
7. The tenant is liable for staining the new mattresses, all bed linen, towels (bath) towels, chair upholstery and wooden tables.
8. Snowy Lodge cannot be held liable for damages or inconveniences caused by circumstances over which it has no or limited control.
